In the Movie 'Cannenball' 1976 with David Carradine is't a Lambo in there. Carradine drove a red Pontiac Firebird.

A Lambo is in 'Cannenball Run' from 1981

Does the thing in the front of the hood comes as standard?

No, neither do the driving lamps underneath it. The US-spec version originally had a ridiculously looking black rubber pad up front to comply with the 5mph impact law.

The Countach was made famous in Cannonball Run and Cannonball Run II. It also appeared in the final Cannonball film, Speed Zone, Miami Vice, and in the cartoon The Transformers as the Autobot twins Sunstreaker and Sideswipe, as Red Alert, and as the Stunticon Breakdown.

LP400S

LP400 rear-sideIn 1978 a new LP400S model was introduced. Though the engine was slightly upgraded from the LP400 model, the most radical changes were in the exterior, where the tires were replaced with much wider Pirelli P7 units, and fiberglass wheel arch extensions were added, giving the car the fundamental look it kept until the end of its production run. An optional V-shaped spoiler was available over the rear deck, which, while improving high-speed stability, reduced the top speed by at least 10 MPH. Most owners ordered the wing. Dynamically, the LP400S was a better car, the wider tires making it more stable in cornering. Aesthetically, some prefer the slick lines of the original while others prefer the more aggressive lines of the later vehicles, beginning with the LP400S. The standard emblems ("lamborghini" and "Countach") were kept at the rear, but an angular "S" emblem was added after the "Countach" on the right side.

If I i'am At home i'll add of show pictures.

The Countach LP 400 S 'cause weren't imported still officially in USA in 1980,were privately imported by owners and adapted in US-spec(like the odd bumpers and cathalizator on exhaust mufflers)by Al Mardikian in Hermosa Beach,California

PS I also,gliffhanger loves Transformers'Lambo(recall a beautiful Takara/Hasbro 1/43 scale model of it 20 years ago)

The front wing was actually added to comply with the US law on minimum height of the front bumper to then comply with impact laws.
Unfortuanely this legislation gave way to the ugly bumpers that ended up on all US bound Countaches.

Looking at those 12 picture police car fan posted ... I've noticed that on the last picture, the Countach seems to have a front license plate ...
which don't appears in the other pictures???
Plus it seems different then the on on the rear that we see on the 2nd picture ... which looks like a Florida plate "MMV 912"

I'm trying to find out what is the actual rear plate on the Lambo ... but I can't find a clear picture of it

The 1979 Lamborghini Countach LP 400 S, chassis number 1121112, is well known for being the star of the 1981 comedy film The Cannonball Run. Exactly 40 years after the film’s release, considered one of the most iconic car movies of all time, the Countach, one of its stars, has made history by being included on the National Historic Vehicle Register of the United States Library of Congress, managed by Hagerty Driver’s Foundation, on the shortlist of just 30 cars to date considered of national importance for the United States... all the information regarding the car, its history, a 3D scan of it and copies of all its documentation will be preserved in the Library of Congress..."
