Not an Econoline. 2003-2007 E-350. Custom grille and bumper. Probably 2003-2005 decal badge though from a 2nd look. -- Last edit: 2022-05-19 16:40:40 |

Yes Econoline vs. E-Series is very confusing and the best way to sum it up is to ask me 1992-1998 are listed as Econoline. 1999 the rear badge changed to say E-x50. We list 1992-1998 Econoline [E-x50] and 1999-2014 as E-Series or E-x50 when we can pinpoint the weight class. Changes: Mirrors: 1992-2002 manual mirrors. Looks like a metal bar with mirror hanging off. 1992-2002 power mirrors. Similar to the 2003+ style. 2003+ angular seen in your example above. 2003+ towing style mirrors not commonly found on vans but still could be optioned. Mainly seen on the chassis cabs or ambulances. Tail lamps: 1992-1994 red/amber tail lamps (Colombia seems to be the only market where these tail lamps lasted longer). 1995-2014 red tail lamps. Motor: 1994.5+ diesel motor available until late 2000s (possibly 2009 or 2010 I would have to research this again). Wheels: 1995-2014 new wheels covers (seen in your example). (Retroactively found on 1992-1994 models though). Dashboard: 1992-1996 have a more squared off dashboard. 1997-2008 have a more rounded dashboard. 2009+ have a rectangular dashboard. Grille: 1992-1996 grille has horizontal bars. 1997-2002 has a curved bar among the horizonal bars. 2003-2007 have the blue oval in the center of the grille and the style also has changed of the grille. Looks more plastic. 1992-2002 Ford Emblem on the hood. 2003+ emblem in the grille. Badges 1992-1996 bulky chrome lettered emblem badge. 1997-1998 decal econoline badge. 1999-2005 short E-x50 badge. 2006-2014 bulky chrome rectangular badge. Random tidbits: 1996-1998 E-Super Duty (before E-450 debuted with the name change in 1999). 3/4 and 1 tonner could be extended 1992+ All ambulances are 1 tonners. (this does not include paratransit and other medical vehicles as they are normally 1/2 or 3/4 tonners) - this also is only for US spec as we have seen other markets use lower weight classes as ambulances. Commercial vans do not carry trim levels during the later years. I did not break down the passenger version here just the commercial one. |
