Omega was not a luxury car in the UK. It was Opel/Vauxhalls attempt to compete with Mercedes-Benz and BMW mostly in the company car market. Not that popular as they didn't have the 'brand' image. Sold well as police cars however and were kept on in some police forces long after they should have been replaced. |

Well they were quite popular (more popular than the weird-looking Ford Scorpio), but they didn't have the image to compete with the 5 Series and E-Class in terms of desirability. And they weren't quite on the same level in terms of quality. But then those two were more expensive. |
