57 Studebaker Champion Regal - you can tell this one's a Regal per the diagonal badge just above the rear wheelarch. Commander and President had a V-8 badge next to the fender script (and Commander was not available in this particular trim). A very rare car in this specific form - only 247 were made. |

VERY interesting, Lateef. I've never seen anything concerning a 1957 Studebaker Champion "REGAL". What is the source of your information? All my sources show only Custom and Deluxe trimmed Champions and Commanders. My '57 Commander Deluxe has a slightly different two-tone pattern. Note how the door pillars match the roof color. This is my recollection of the correct two-toning trim on Deluxe cars. ![]() |

Source: West German 1957 brochure, production stats - it's possible that this was an export-only trim variation. |

It seems, looking at this, that Studebaker suffered from the Riley syndrome. Too many models, not enough sales. |

Wonderful term - I'll remember it. |

That must explain it. German version. I have that same brochure (American) but it does not show that model. |

Yeah - it says right here "Regal-trim got double side trim moldings on the rear quarter panels and single pieces on the front (All Regals were sold outside the USA)." |

So, made for Germany? |

General export version, so not made for Germany specifically. Anyway, it's got an Italian plate. |

So, could this be made for Europe? |
