1969+ wipers. Maybe 1973+ mirror but not definite (particularly as no headrests). Tints so S likely. |

Assuming this is supposed to be Jay Sebring's car, the real car was a 1968 911L with the "Sportomatic" transmission...probably the least desirable early 911. Still, the movie car is close to accurate. |

It's supposed to look like the real car, a 1968 911L Sportomatic as mentioned above, but the car used in the film is a 1973 Porsche 911S. It's a long wheel base car, has flared wheel arches, front spoiler and fixed quartervent windows in doors which makes it a post 70ies car. The biggest giveaway is the 2.4 script on the rear engine lid grill, which limits it to 72 and 73. The 72 cars would have had an oil filler lid on the rhs rear wing(fender) which this car doesn't have so it would be model year 1973. Note the car has a factory sunroof and Recaro sports seats with headrests. Following an earlier comment on the least desirable early 911, the car used in the film would then actually be the most desirable early 911 (bar the 911 RS Carrera from 73) |

Thanks for the ID. Although I am not knowledgeable on Porsche details, I saw it in a previous entry for the Chevy pickup. There was something about this car that seemed to be too new to be from 1969 or earlier. |
