From the looks of it, some of the details remind me of a 1967 model. I own a 1967 model. The steering wheel seems right because the one on mine looks exactly like that one. I still think "Sedan" would work since that's how most people list it, and they never seem to forget to add "Beetle" in the extra info since that's the actual nickname. The classic Volkswagen Beetle is my favorite car. -- Last edit: 2017-12-08 17:20:26 |

"Sedan" would not work - there is a Danish train in this film, so the film must be set in Denmark. -- Last edit: 2018-09-20 16:28:32 |

The Devil is in the detail... The only years with a white gear knob and a black steering wheel would be 1966-67. (Missing the fuel filler flap and with the 1965+ windows 'verifies' 1965-67) Black or white switches would tell which year, I can't make up my mind. 1966 1300, or 1967 1300/1500 (Denmark) |

What kind of switches? |

In the middle above the radio, one (the light switch) seems to be deleted (and the ashtray knob would match as well) With this level of details, you would expect the presence of an ignition lock and the hazard light switch hidden by the steering wheel as well -- Last edit: 2017-12-08 17:58:26 |

A view of the glove box knob, if it helps:![]() This part on the right, if it helps: ![]() And an overall daylight shot: ![]() That's all the details that were seen. -- Last edit: 2017-12-08 18:06:39 |

That knob and the missing horn ring are wrong for the car. However, without an ignition lock on the steering column (other details are so good I'd expect to see one) I'd rather say 1966 1300 -- Last edit: 2017-12-08 18:39:12 |

When I saw first saw it, I thought it was the postwar ribbed steering wheel (white with Wolfsburg logo) which should be a 1958-59 combined with the rear windshield I think (I always consider the new one 1957 and not 1958) |

The presence of a fuel gauge and a grab handle (black, 1966+ like the steering wheel) would exclude an early model, but after all, it's a cartoon |
