For those who don't know, Rodanthe is a real town on the Outer Banks in the state of North Carolina. My family spends a week in the Outer Banks every year (usually in the northern part) and we pass through Rodanthe whenever we go to Cape Hatteras. I probably won't see this movie, but I look forward to seeing more screenshots and seeing if there's anyplace I recognize. ![]() |

Yes sir, Rodanthe is most certainly real; the Outer Banks are home to miles of the most pristine costal beaches on the east coast of the US. Even the filmmakers of this movie will not be able to capture the natural beauty of the Outer Banks. It has to be seen in person to absorb the serenity of it all. |

Well I finally watched this movie last night, which is kinda pathetic seeing as it takes place in my own backyard. The ironic part is that I am staying in Rodanthe right now to help my grandfather repair some of his cottages so the will be ready for next season. I live about 1.5 hours north of Rodanthe but my family has been here since the late 1600's. The movie isn't bad, it's just not my type of movie. |
