The story goes Tony Scott was slated to direct this, but the studio felt he was too inexperienced to direct a taut thriller (I guess that was before "Top Gun" took the world by storm), so they did the most sensible thing: they hired a no-name arthouse director (well, I've never heard of him). It goes without saying the movie is a disaster, best exemplified by the fact its top drawer co-stars Jonathan Pryce and Brooke Adams have maybe five lines total between them. It's not even worth seeing for Joe Pesci inexplicably go mental on a guitar at some point. Tony Scott had something of a last laugh as he went on to direct the better received remake with Denzel Washington.

Anyway, upgraded to one of the more disappointing HDs from Kino Lorber (very grainy and soft focus), and added some omissions (the cement truck the most surprising one).

bonus [*][*] something that the main character gets thrashed on, looks like an Alfa Romeo:

"bonus wreck:"
1967 Chrysler Newport - Added, because that seems an unusual car to find in Italy in 1987: /vehicle.php?id=2105413

"bonus tiny convertiblahs:"
White: Cadillac, probably the same 1953 visible here
Red: 1955 Oldsmobile Super 88
