A very nice and fun feel good romp... up until the last 15 minutes when one of the kids is abruptly hit and killed by a car out of nowhere and nothing in the past hour and 15 minutes matters for the rest of the film. I'm not kidding, it's one of the most jarring tonal shifts I've seen in a movie. If I was watching this on the TV, I would think I had sat on the remote. Starring John Ritter, Susan Dey, Doug McKeon, and one of the kids is played by Patrick Swayze himself in his TV debut! Airdate: April 11th, 1980 |
