Star Dick van Dyke actually struggled with alcoholism in real life and, just before the movie aired, went public about it, becoming one of the first major celebrities to do so. Director Richard T. Heffron left it up to van Dyke on how to perform, since he knew the character better. Also starring Lynn Carlin, Don Porter, and Linda Lavin! Airdate: February 13th, 1974 |
