Was this movie funded by Chrysler? The main characters drive a De Soto convertible and a Dodge station wagon, the cops drive a Plymouth and a large Dodge truck is used as well, all of which were brand new at the time. The only other Big Three cars are either barely used or not at all and an old Ford wagon is shown overheating.

@GodzillaFan54: Yes, I guess it was Chrysler's product placement :miam:

Thank you, no-a! I have seen this film and it's a very interesting take for a '50s sci-fi; there is no monster, just rocks that keep growing when exposed to water, eventually crumble to pieces under their own weight, and then those pieces start the entire process all over again.

An interesting pair of names on a mailbox and the cast listing... :D

"Other background vehicles"

2. 1954-1955 Chevrolet Corvette - despite the color, the ultra-rare 1953 (300 made, all painted white) can probably be ruled out because they all had black softtops, unless that's a removable hardtop
