Critics are bashing this song for being uninspired and sounding like crap, but I think it's one of the most refreshing songs on the radio at work. I don't even audibly understand all the lyrics. After five hours straight of homogenous tosh like Myles Smith, Benson Boone and Alex Warren, which they play about 50 million times a day, rounded off with a round of APT just to rob your last nerve, it's good to hear a song from an established artist that proves they've still got it. Something that wouldn't have been out of place in the mid-late 2000s that makes you realize how truly special it is, because of how it sticks out like a sore thumb in the swamp of all the other "I quit my job flipping burgers to pursue a musical career and became popular on TikTok" Gen Z upstarts. |
