Looks like the library guessed at a year. |

Excellent find. Apart from incorrect film date wrongly, NLS also give the wrong film length - it's 11-45 on their player, not 08-24 as listed. Earliest possible film date seems mid-38 according to the legible number plates, but there's no sign of any WW2 features/ captions/blackout paint so probably before late 39. |

Thanks! My next contribution should be A Letter From Edinburgh, which features several interesting vehicles from this period. You, or anyone else for that matter, can go ahead and add it if I haven't done so within to next few days if you wish - to quote Alexander's last comment... |

I won't - it's your find. And I can never work out how to take captures from NLS stuff without getting arrows in the way. |

Maybe could you take the risk to give the film its right date, dsl. 1938? 1939? |

If you go to the reference source for the film, they list the year with an asterisk, but no explanation. So it appears that the library estimated the year. Not sure if we should deviate from the source just yet or make our own estimate? |

Does "1935-1938" resolve this?? |
◊ 2015-12-31 01:21 |
I would go for 1938 but I'm not from Glasgow. |

Any years before 1938 can be ruled out, and given the aforementioned lack of WWII influences, I would also suggest listing it as 1938. Having said that, I'm not from Glasgow either. ![]() |

A-hem, no. It makes it worse. (The date is supposed mark the release of the film. Two dates suggest sort of a series.) |

The problem is this film is not listed on IMDB and it is listed elsewhere as 1935, so if we change the year, it will not match any other website and will be missed for people trying to reference it here. |
