The convertible with the teepee is based on a 1950 Buick. Same sweep of the front and rear fenders, as well as the Buick trademark "Ventaports" the faux exhaust in the engine cover. The estate car seems to be jyst a caricature. In reality, American wagons/estate cars of the period were not that large, certainly not three rows. By the :50s American estate cars had moved downmarket, instead of being large and produced on large chasis, by the '50s they were very much average family cars. Also, by that time, the structures were steel with exterior wood "framing" added for accent. By the late '50s, the wood frame effect would be done by plastic or glass fibre with the planks simulated with decals. -- Last edit: 2024-11-20 05:12:15 |
