See this url for more info: http://mildequator.com/filmhistory/hwy.html This Shelby was driven by Morrison and legend has it he eventually hit a pole on the Sunset Strip one night and parked it on the side of the street to go drink. When he came back it was gone. Some sources say the car no longer exist. I've also heard it was registered in Morrison's name and another person who was associated with Elektra Records. There are pictures of Morrison on the internet with a 68 Charger. Some conclude he got the 68 Charger when he wrecked the Shelby; However, again this film was shot in April 69 and the Shelby was wrecked sometime after that. Maybe as late as 1970.
