s13a ◊ 2022-12-13 15:36	A sequel to the original A Christmas Story (1983). Set in Chicago & Indiana (USA). Filmed in (according to imdb) : Cleveland, Ohio, USA ; Sofia, Bulgaria ; Toronto, Ontario. I suspect much of the movie was filmed in Bulgaria due to a number of vehicles that can be traced there.
GodzillaFan54 ◊ 2022-12-13 16:06	Why do so many movies film in Bulgaria? Wouldn't the cost of flying the cast, crew, and all the film equipment be horrendously expensive? Especially for something that obviously doesn't have much of a budget.

Small parts are played by local actors, dubbed if necessary. Wages, construction costs, studio rental, etc. are all cheaper than in the United States. If filming in Bulgaria was not cheaper, they wouldn't go there.
