TV (Telewizja Polska Poznań) documentary about troublesome activity of FSR factory Poznań-Antoninek (Agricultural Car Factory) - the queen-bee cell of Tarpan vehicles. Dated early 1987. Many shots of Tarpan prototypes or rare versions. The title means 'Finish off Tarpan'. |

Thank you, however I can just call to this man (first on left) - FSR engineer Jan Cynka - and ask. |

Future Tarpan proposes, drawed around June 1979 (Centro Stile FIAT), nicknamed 'Tarpagnola' because of 1979 FIAT & FSR agreement, quietly ceased on March 1981. Later version 1:1 plaster mock-up is preserved. However, it's prone to damage. We moved it with deep care, when changing temporary exhibitions on Poznań Kaponiera Automotive Museum (now deceased...) - Don't push! Roll wheels, roll wheels... There were two driveable prototypes built & tested in Italy on 1981, mixing first & second concepts: 1a serie front, 2a serie back. Powered by 2.0 litre OHV petrol Campagnola-sourced and 2.0 litre OHC Diesel (typ 4DX, 44 kW, developed by FSO!) Left one was orange-red, right one light blue. -- Last edit: 2024-01-27 00:32:58 |

The 'Tarpagnola' looks like a Range Rover, or perhaps an Austin Montego. |

Interesting |

I can certainly see the resemblance to the Range Rover. What surprises me is the extension of the rear axle so close to the bumper. Even Ford Super Camper Specials of the 1970's didn't extend them that close to the rear bumper. |

Finally found it! Light blue Tarpan & me. The photo seems pretty ancient but really dated ca. 1988-1989. He was special vehicle. Definitely 'he', not 'she'. Few years before this photo I had memorable moment for every automotive freak. I - flimsy 10-year-old - drove him alone dozen meters for the first time, garage -> outside. Pure adrenaline because of 6-10 cm reserve only between mirrors and garage gate. It was alike gently training polite dragon. Actually I was the little master of cold starting already, applying his manual choke much better than automatic systems. Better than my Dad, woah! -- Last edit: 2024-01-26 18:52:05 |

Nice pic. Young kids driving a car reminds me of that scene in Dante's Peak. |

Polmo tried to sell it (LHD still) on United Kingdom! |

The prospecte of Tarpan 1500 F (equivalent of F-233 with 1481 cc FSO engine) for Greece. And importer stand at unknown Greek trade (1986+). |

If plate is PCB 749S it's Bolton, Aug-Sept 1977. Some chatter here about a batch of 12 being brought over in 1981 for evaluation, which links to comment here (scroll down) - "The story goes that the UK importers for FSO brought twelve of these contraptions into Sheerness about 1981 for evaluation, six went back on the same boat, two were definitely registered. The history of the others is unknown but they were rumoured to have all been in a scrapyard near Bloxwich. If they were, I never found them." |

Could it be a Polish number plate from Poznan (PO)? Link to "en.wikipedia.org" |

“A scrapyard near Bloxwich”. Isn’t that Cannock? |

Good pics which show some subtle oddities/rarities. |
