If really a 86"/2.1 m BBC cab, then Freightliner's nomenclature makes it an FLA 8664T (86" BBC, 6x4 drivetrain, Tractor). Which should be set as FLA 86 64 T according to the IMCDb habits. |

Goof: The trailer is first shown to have eight wheels, but when one of the black Civics goes under it, the trailer has four wheels. |

This truck is part of the 1989-95 batch of cabover models obviously. But I recently discovered that Freightliner classified their later cabovers WAY different than how they did it in the early-mid 80's. Here's a rundown: Here we have two Freightliner FLA models. A 1984-88 model, and a 1989-95 model. The left truck is the older model that used the original classification adopted from White-Freightliner.(Make|Model|Cab Length|Wheel Config) So this truck would be a Freightliner FLA 86 64 T, exactly like this truck's page. However, the 1989-95 batch were classified differently. The truck on the right used a new code starting in 1989, the original classification was tossed and just the sleeper size was coded. 104 inch cabs were being produced at this time, so an extra zero was added for consistency. So the right truck would be a Freightliner FLA 086. So no, because this truck is a 1993 it wouldn't be built as an FLA 86 64 T. -> 1993 Freightliner FLA 086. I can understand why a lot of these trucks are listed incorrectly on here, the system used to classify them kept changing every couple years. -- Last edit: 2023-10-26 04:19:29 |
