Yes, it's one of those Foward Control 101s, but an early model. It's just like this one: http://www.ajeepthing.com/images/land-rover-fc101-blog.jpg -- Last edit: 2007-02-14 03:48:05 |

Is the current name correct? Shouldn't it be listed as 101 FC rather? |

It's not the 101 FC, it's the model that preceded it. http://www.series2club.co.uk/history.htm -- Last edit: 2007-09-14 13:21:31 |

This is a Land Rover 110" Series 2B and the only thing is has in common with the later military 101 is where the driver sits! This vehicle was based around a 109" Series 2A Land Rover whereas the 101 has more in common with an early Range Rover. The 2B FC was built between 1967 and 1973. If it was a home market model the protruding headlights would make it a 1969 or later model, but as it was probably built locally in South Africa it is possible these headlights were used on earlier models. |

I can confirm this is a 2b Land Rover. The 2a version has the headlights 1/2 way up the front grille. These things are awful to drive. I know, I have one. |
