Morris Series Z?? Post Office Telephones?? WTE plate = 1955, WYE = Apr 59 - June 60 "allocated in blocks" - is this too late?? |

Morris 5cwt Series Z, yes; but the dating is at fault. By the mid-50s the Telephones were buying O-Types. Maybe MYE? In those days Telephones vans always had London registrations. |

MYE looks good - April 52 onwards - no end date but "Allocated to Government Depaertments" |

Double entry alert: Morris 5cwt Van versus Morris Eight Series Z Van (which has friends Morris Eight Series Z Utilecon Van and Morris Eight Series Z Skåpvagn). Let battle commence. |

..... and to make it a three-cornered fight - Morris Z-Series. |

Do get a grip chaps. Link to "upload.wikimedia.org" |

Yup - I know what they look like - I was looking for wise words from our revered elders. |

All I can offer is a caution - if anyone's combining them watch out for the 1938 one, it's old Minor based, not Series E. |

I know that you know, but the point is that the picture is tagged Series Z, it's just about visible on this. Link to "www.google.co.uk" As far as the Utilecon was concerned, as Pilou pointed out, that was the trade name for the Martin Walter estate car conversion, and it was also seen on the E83W Fordson. Link to "www.google.co.uk" The other name may be the form used in the Scandinavian countries. The handbook says "Morris 5-cwt Van (Series Z)" and if that's what the manufacturer called it then surely that must be its name. -- Last edit: 2014-04-30 10:01:38 |

to all our classic cars fans from Britain here Is anyone of you thinking to visit http://www.beaulieu.co.uk/beaulieu-events/spring-autojumble this year? As it seems, I it will be possible for me. But alone, as my wife has not enough free days for that... So it may a nice idea, to use the K 70 again for a longer trip As I can spend an oversized weekend for that, visits of other attractions in Southern England as the Brooklands Museum may be possible, too. |

So it seems all 3 groups could usefully become "Morris 5-cwt Van (Series Z)" with Morris 5-cwt Utilecon Van (Series Z) and Morris 5-cwt Skåpvagn (Series Z) for the 2 individual entries. This one - /vehicle_109224-Morris-Z-Series.html - is probably a second Skåpvagn ?? And excluding chris40's 1938 example. |

...or even a four-cornered fight Morris ¼-Ton Z-Series /vehicles_make-Morris_model-%BC-Ton+Z-Series.html |

So now 4 titles to resolve. My feeling is Morris Eight Series Z Van is wrong (though understandable why it exists) and plain Morris Z-Series can be improved. That leaves choice of: - 5cwt Z-Series (as jfs link to handbook cover) or - ¼-Ton Z-Series (which matches what we do for early 50s Minor versions so feels neat) As both alternatives mean the same, I think we can vote now. |

I would prefer... Make: Morris Model: 5cwt Van Extra Info: Series Z (or Series Z PO Telephones, Series Z Royal Mail/GPO as necessary) as in the Morris Manual and as already used here /vehicle_538299-Morris-5cwt-Van-1944.html |

I think that's everything sorted into 5cwt Van/Skåpvagn/Utilecon Van [Series Z]. Putting Series Z as [code] brings them all together more successfully. |

Sorry, Beaulieu-trip cancelled Problems with the vacation-days and also a bit about the money (my wife has pushed me to purchase a monster-TV-set last Saturday...) |
