I remember this as a movie of two halves, a riotously funny first half, and a morbidly depressing second half. Must be a point in there somewhere that I missed. Amazing performance by Peter O'Toole, though, and Alastair Sim's wedding scene is the stuff of legend.

Upgraded to HD, added a [*][*] ambulance and modified the Humber Hawk listing from its original [*] listing to its later [*][*] appearance in the movie.

bonus nonsense from the opening credits:
3. CCM756C looks intriguing; what's the oval plaque (QE?) on the left?

bonus cast and/or crewmobiles from dvd extra "Peter Medak's Home Movies" shot during filming:
7. Have we seen 52EMD before?

^ The oval plaque appears to be just a distorted GB sticker:

I googled for 52 EMD, but all it found were locomotives...

- CCM 756C is a 1965 plate Fiat 1100 D, rare here because it sold very slowly and rusted very fast.
- 52 EMD was a 1955 plate, Morris Cowley or Oxford. White behind is Cresta PC, probably the rare poverty Standard version.
- among the other castmobiles, yellow with racey wheels is Austin/Morris 1300 GT, there's a nice maroon Victor FD estate, and 2 Triumph 2000 Mk1s - an early one in thumb 3 and late one in thumb 6.
- bonus menagerie 1 - the elegant maroon is Triumph 1500, the sporty thing sideways on at the back is probably Sunbeam Rapier [Arrow].

Oxford. Over riders + chrome strip around rear screen.
