Not 5 stars for this car. Maybe 4 stars, but 5 stars is too much. -- Last edit: 2007-03-11 23:07:49 |

Isn't it the KITT of the movie? |
◊ 2007-03-11 23:19 |
Yes, but only used at the end. There's more action with the Bel Air. |

Maybe we could use one of the additional screenshots as main picture? |

Sure. Well, then I agree for 4 stars. But if there is more action with the Bel Air, shouldn't it also deserve 4 stars? -- Last edit: 2007-03-11 23:30:11 |

Difficult. Maybe 4 stars for the Bel Air is better. It's also KITT... |

This may be a Dodge Stealth, but it sure as hell looks like the Pontiac Banshee concept car. |

It is supposed to look like the Pontiac Banshee concept. But it custom bodywork built on a Dodge Stealth. A lower trim level Stealth. At the time Stealths were brand new to the market. Maybe the should have used a unhidden Stealth. It would have looked good as KITT. |

That’s the beauty of movies, nothing is what it seems ... |

This KITT seen's lik FF ... |

It doesn't look like a body kit on a Stealth. The interior is nothing like a Stealth, but a LOT like the Banshee prototype (and the model kit I had of one). I can't see them gutting an interior to that extent and building an interior from the ground up. Probably would have been cheaper to actually use the Banshee prototype. |

GM didn't want anybody being asking around for a kitt productionline model. As what happend in the original series, and it IS a 1991 Dodge Stealth. The seats where made in resemblance to the Trans Am PMD seats, and for the "auto cruise" driver to see where he's going with out being spotted, so they didn't have to tint the windows therefore making it look like the car drives it self and nobody in it as it moved around. |

After getting a good look at the gear shift i have to say it is a stealth or a 3000GT as that was the design Mitsubishi and dodge used for the stealth and 3000GT and later the avenger model line. God i really thought this was the banshee prototype for so long oh well learn something new everyday right. |

Supposedly two were used, in addition to a process car that was cut in half. One of the survivors is in this video, in very rough shape: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azJbG9ffmgM |
