Ford Zephyr Six Mk.I [EOTTA], 1951-6. According to Wikipedia, no Mk.I Zodiac convertibles were produced, otherwise I might have said this was one. |

Front car is a 1958 Ford Fairlane. |

Glass's does not list a Zodiac convertible either, just the Zephyr ^^. Dated as 54+ for bonnet mascot. -- Last edit: 2012-03-08 16:08:43 |

A few comments: The Mk1 models had names like Consul, "Zephyr Six" and "Zephyr Zodiac". When introducing the Mk2 models they simplified it to just Consul, Zepyr and Zodiac, but when Ford was to introduce the Mk3 models the Consul name was already used for the Consul 315 range, and they decided to denote both four- and sixcylinder models with the same name; Zephyr. But to have some distinction they called them "Zephyr 4" and "Zephyr 6". This is a Zephyr Six. The Convertible's were developed and built by Carbodies, Coventry, but sold by the Ford dealers with full waranty. Should the Carbodies name be in the headline? |
