I cannot say anything about the colour, but all 114 Coupés I saw in Brazil spotted longer rear bumpers. |

anyway it was a modification for March 1972 (the longer rear bumpers). Even this medium green (called simply "Grün", but nicknamed in Germany as "Baurngrün") was a March 1972 new, alongside with others as two hues of yellows. Between 1968 and late 1971 on /8 Mercedes cars there were only dark greens and no yellow at all (but an ivory). series I because it has got the narrower front grille and old outside rear-view mirror. -- Last edit: 2012-02-01 18:07:10 |

In every case the "200", as it's listed now, is wrong. There was never a W114 200 Coupé |

The long rear bumper was fitted on all Coupés from the start, and fitted on the Sedan first in combination with the 280/280 E engines. From the 1969 catalogue: http://www.lov2xlr8.no/brochures/others1/69mbb/bilder/10.jpg The colour on this one is hard to determine, since the clips are of relatively low quality. It seems lighter than this green from 1970: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/405/mb250c13.jpg/ and darker than this one from 1973: /vehicle_464568-Mercedes-Benz-280-W114-1973.html The colour here gives the impression of being metallic though, so I think it´s a bit later than the first year at least, so it can be kept as a 1972. And list as 250 C to sort it with the rest of the Coupes. |
