W114 saloon, badge on right hand side of boot makes me think a diesel, so 200D / 220D / 240D. |

1968+ W 114/115 is correct, but the badge on the right rather says "automatic". It looks longer than the "Diesel"-badge and it was more common. I think, the extra badge "Diesel" was rarely used, mostly they only had the "D" after the model-number. |

By the bumper it´s a 280/280E [W114], introduced for 1973 modelyear. The Diesel badge I think was used only on US-market, introduced about 1974/75 when Diesel became a selling argument in connection with the oil crisis. -- Last edit: 2009-05-06 13:31:19 |
