open to speculation...its a standard light truck on a universal chassis built 1937-1940, once the most numerous german military truck built by Borgward,Bussing,Faun,Henschel,Magirus,MAN..unless one opens the bonnet, outwardly they are all identical. chassis and engine designed by Henschel and MAN...Mercedes had nothing to do with the vehicle....today out of some 10,000 made, only 2 remain in preservation. |

Einheits-Diesel HWa (Heereswaffenamt). It was built between 1937-1940 in various lots by most of the German truck manufacturers: MAN ca. 1800 Henschel ca. 1500 Magirus ca. 2500 Büssing-NAG ca. 3200 Faun ca. 700 Daimler-Benz ca. 550 and perhaps even Vomag. In 1940 production ended, because cheaper and lighter trucks with two axles and the same load carrying capacity had rendered the design obsolete. |

Right, Einheits-Diesel (we can call it Henschell, for chassis developer?). |

Let's call it Henschel Einheits-Diesel then. |

We have them now under Büssing-NAG brand. |
