Two different Jeeps although both painted with same units numbers on the bumpers (nice touch). The flathood is a CJ3A (no hinged grille, no aux battery cover of the M38). The round hood is an early CJ5 (with an M38A1 grille and windshield). The CJ5 looks like an M38A1 but the fount spring mounts are civilian and it has a tailgate. Also missing the larger military fuel tank of the M38A1. Several details missing of M38A1 (right side aux power port) but Jeeps receive many owner modifications over the years. |
