 This movie is unofficially part of the Fast & Furious franchise, linked by director Justin Lin and the character Han played by Sung Kang.

Wikipedia wrote Director Justin Lin and portrayer Sung Kang have both stated in interviews that the Han seen in the Fast & Furious franchise is the same character featured in Better Luck Tomorrow, with that film serving as the character's origin story.

This film was made on a $250,000 budget. It explains why multiple cars in the background are seen a few times over and over (The Previa, Cherokee, Chevy Van, etc). The whole film wouldn't have happened if MC Hammer hadn't wired the director (Justin Lin) enough money to complete filming. As pointed out by Cougar, this film would later be seen as the "unofficial" origins of Han Lue
