— Wikipedia page
From 1939 to 1995, SMZ (Серпуховский Мотозавод, translit. Serpukhovskiy Motozavod, "Serpukhov Motorcycle Plant") produced various cyclecars for use by disabled drivers, usually powered by IZh motorcycle engines.
Since 1991 it also produced the Lada Oka developed by AvtoVAZ.
In 1995, AvtoVAZ fully transferred the assembly of the Oka to SMZ, its name became SeAZ.
See SMZ/Semipalatinsk for tracked vehicles and SMZ/Solombala for tractors and ground conveyors.
