4 years ago I thought it was probably Alpine S3 with quarterlights at /vehicle_540507-Sunbeam-Imp-Sports-Sedan-1964.html , but I can't see a picture there now which has the appropriate detail. But as the Imps are obvious product placement, I guess the Alpine would have been as well so latest S3 seems likely. |

SIII had more truncated fins with the fuel filler on top not on the side like the car pictured. -- Last edit: 2016-12-21 23:17:04 |

That was S4 (Jan 64+) and S5 (Sept 65+). S1 and S2 were externally identical apart from a detail on the leading edge of door window frame - on S1 it was only chromed for a small height, giving a stub effect (alongside the screen pillars being chromed full height). On S2 leading edge of door window frame was chromed for full height. S3 was long fin S2 with quarterlights, higher filler cap position as mentioned above, plus new GT hardtop option. For this one, whatever made me think S3 four years ago has gone, so S2 seems most likely from production numbers. -- Last edit: 2019-07-16 14:00:50 |
