I could be wrong, but I think the body is Thomas Built (location of fluting, button-shaped side turn signal, location of battery box) |

As usual, not just S-Series, but S-Series Schoolmaster: (1979 Schoolmaster brochure cover) A view of the grille could help to tell a 1979-86 International Harvester model from a 1987-89 (Navistar) International one. |

@Elmer - FYI, the S in S-Series stands for Schoolmaster, so in effect you are being redundant as you are calling it a Schoolmaster Series Schoolmaster |

Let's say it's just a (strong) side effect of new year's eve As a reminder, S-Series is here for the 1979-89 S-Series truck chassis on which this bus is based. IH buses were called 'Something'-Series Schoolmaster, their model code being based the contemporary truck chassis: (1952 L-Series Schoolmaster // 1957 A-Series Schoolmaster // 1962 Loadstar Schoolmaster) Even the "non-conventional" bus chassis used the Shoolmaster name: (1966? International FC-Series Schoolmaster) It has to be confirmed, but it appears that the truck line name disappeared from the bus model name sometime during the 1960s, leaving just Schoolmaster as name. Which would mean that the S-Series in the identification of this bus is in fact irrelevant: (196? IH Schoolmaster: just a model number, no Loadstar with it. See also the cover of the 1979 Schoolmaster brochure in my previous comment) So once again, please search a bit before asserting such "truths". Don't be surprised, otherwise, if I don't trust your "identifications" |
