Strange one - has a Mk. 1 front, but wind-down windows. I was under the impression that wind-down windows were introduced on the Mk. 2. An Australian cross-over model, or perhaps an owner had Mk. 2 doors fitted? Registration number dates from 1968. To perhaps aid identification, I've uploaded the footage from the episode here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZdTp2qBz8MI -- Last edit: 2016-11-23 23:18:02 |

My book has 1965-69 Morris Mini Minor YDO4 (renamed from Morris 850) with wind-up windows (which arrived on all Aus Minis during March-Oct 1965 depending on version), simple hubcaps without trim rings, Mk1 rear lights and no over-riders - came with both 848cc and from Oct 67 added 998cc, then 1969-71* became Morris Mini 1100 (listed as Mk2 but still YDO4) with 1098cc - no change to exterior details as above but unclear in frontal photo which rear lights, but a hint in another source that they may still have been small Mk1 units. * - for info, this was also the point when Morris Mini Deluxe [YDO5, 998cc] became Morris Mini K [still YDO5, now 1098cc] in a parallel revamp. |
