I don't believe this is a 265 because it is missing a chrome strip above the head lights http://www.favcars.com/photos-volvo-264-gl-1978-91669.htm . That chrome strip (aluminium actually...) was present all the way up to 1980, but disappeared on the 1981 face lift. On the 240 series, that chrome strip was present until MY 1977, but disappeared for the 1978 MY.
