This is an A type - as far as I know there was no D type Bedford. 1957 was the last year of this model. |

There were D types Bedfords in 1957 They were the normal control lightweight ( ranging 25 cwt to 3 ton) and middleweight ( ranging 4-6 tons) models , with body very similar to the previous A types which they replaced. The D type range was a short duration transitional range and was in turn replaced by the TJ in 1958. |

The D type was introduced in 1957 as a replacement for the A type but using GM sourced engines. The heavier trucks had a new grille with added chrome bar and 'nostrils'. The lighter models retained the A type front. This is a heavier A type. |
