British Road Services but cannot recognise the cab from the picture... Looks very similar I think to the unknown tanker in Operation Crossbow, so someday a match could be found for both? |

Many british lorries had similar cabs back in the 1950s. |

Agreed its almost a generic British cab without a clear view of the front, but the proportions and size of the windscreen and headlamp height are significant I think. However its appearance is very similar again to a Vulcan http://ccmv.aecsouthall.co.uk/p674500040/h2f0be483#h2f0be483 The truck is not a car transporter but a normal flat-bed, platform truck with an added fixed upperdeck for car bodies similar to this later example? British Road Services look to have been contracted by the Rootes Group at the time of the movie to provide the transport but its not to say the truck itself was a Rootes product (including any late 1940s to 1953 Vulcan). edit: A four wheeler and trailer from the Jaguar listing. -- Last edit: 2016-09-15 12:11:12 |

Vulcan I believe as adjusted picture from other listings... Curved radiator and windscreen size is visible. Another Vulcan 6PF Perkins diesel, drop-sided truck, as used by BRS here https://www.flickr.com/photos/triggerscarstuff/7597505940/ -- Last edit: 2016-09-15 12:47:59 |
