Very popular at one time,as I recall being told once you could drive these 'Dreirads' on a Motorcycle licence.(Not as hard to get) Small farmers & some merchants liked these,I even saw one used to haul sheets of glass? (One of the last ones I recall seeing still being used,BTW?) Not a 'highway vehicle' for sure! (Too slow,you can drive on sideroads, but I think 60-70 km/h (40 mph or so) was about all they did....and I'm sure they handled deadly (looks easy to flip over?) at higher speeds!!!) |
