![]() (00:55:32) The rear door shape shows that the transformation was more important than just adding a raised roof to a 4-door Caravan... Does the white blinker indicate a particular model year or a specific trim / engine? xxx KX 91: a 1969 plate number. But as usual, the 1950-2009 French system gives only the last registration. |

yes, the conversion is much more important than raising the roof, the z shaped roof trimline indicates it is a Christian Miesen product the worlds oldest ambulance make. |

@ andrepa: The car you link is a 1970 model, so I don't really understand your "conclusion" about a 1969 model? As said several times, including in my previous comment on this page, the 1950-2009 French registration system don't give the model year of a vehicle, just the year of the last registration. And in the area of Paris, made of 4 departments, changes were frequent. Ambulance is already present in the class of the car, so it should not appear in the model name unless wanting to create a useless redundancy. -- Last edit: 2016-07-01 06:36:34 |

@ eLMer, just added "Miesen" in extra info, but not ambulance to model type The word ambulance was never used by Miesen, they call it a KTW = Krankentransportwagen a german expression like PKW or LKW with the heavy ambulances arer called RTW = Rettungswagen. Well, as it is a french ambulance omitted KTW in extra info -- Last edit: 2016-07-03 20:38:06 |

did a little research to underpin statement Miesen usually had a time shift with model change. there is evidence they didn't deliver MY 1967 C Rekord before the year 1968. Togehter with registration 1969 and mint appearance going to change from 1967 to 1969, than. Link to "www.feuerwehr-delbrueck.de" the one in link is the oldest to be found made in 1968 |

I remember, as a small child ~ 1970 DRK of my hometwown got a brand new Opel KAD A Miesen KTW while there allready has been KAD B sedan. I begun to understand Miesen did start work on new gen after premiere on IAA, so you will not find pic of IAA with Miesen KTW allready prepared. |

in depth study reveals this is a Miesen Eco-line built between 1968 - 1970 while in late 1970 Z-shaped trim line was omitted Link to "bos-fahrzeuge.info" |

not only a da capo but funny, too! 1.model type name is given by Opel and there is no Opel badged Rekord Ambulance like there is no Rekord Police or Opel Blitz badged fire engine*. 2.even more principle: It is a german car, and back in 1970 we used the expression Ambulanz, but not for a car! 3.Ambulanz was the emergency room were the patient is brought to by a car called Krankenwagen or SanKa which is mil slang for Sanitätskraftwagen. 4.So if i would have named it, it would have been a Opel Rekord Krankenwagen, 5.It was not before the 80ies when we had cars written ambulance on it operated by international companies 6.although Opel belongs to GM they called it a Opel Rekord but not Record, or a Blitz but not a flash etc. 7.2016-06-29 16:23 recognized at a glance but spent a whole night to explain. 8.it is good to bring togehter all the knowledge here, my Point of view is that of a modeler allready have made Opel Rekord C Caravan and plan to do so with Miesen KTW edit: correct model type is Rekord Caravan 1700 or 1900 as all the Eco-line models were conversions of that chassis and engine edit1:finally this is the long version, how i came to the 1969 "conclusion" knowing french registration charts are a bit comme ci, comme ça from your previous comments on this page. -- Last edit: 2016-07-04 12:44:13 |

summarization we agree 1967 MY Opel Rekord Caravan converted by Miesen not before 1968 but not later than 1969 by registration. we not agree on minor aspect: the plate is not only the latest of the car when filmed, but its prestine, too -- Last edit: 2016-07-04 12:50:29 |
