I can read "petit taxi" on the roof in the thumb. This scripi was reserved to small cars used as taxis as Simca 1000s but not such larger sedans.

Yes, I know but a colony was officially not usually considered as the state.
If I remember well Algeria was considered (by France) fully French territory but the same didn't apply to Morocco or Tunisia. I studied this in International law when I was young but I am not able to tell the correct names in English.

Yes electra225 you're right, that was "L'Algérie Française". I suggested the Made for France option because of the yellow bulb lights which it was a necessary law in France from the 1930's until 1993 if I'm not mistaken.
