Ford may have thought it had the answer, but the specification of their chassis left much to be improved. Was this car a lot cheaper to buy compared with a VW at the time? I know the beetle wasn't perfect, I had a 1960 Deluxe, but at least you got four gears and independent suspension. |

the Ford was much cheaper 2750 DM compared to 3750 for the VW in 1950. The tools had to be redeemed from Ambi-Budd in soviet zone first Did you know the first postwar Taunus was built to order in Wolfsburg and at Karmann Osnabrück until 1948. The Spezial had 4 gears, too. -- Last edit: 2016-05-17 14:46:17 |

In Germany the car connaisseurs have the opinion, that the 1948 "Buckeltaunus" ("hunchback Taunus") was the last reliable Ford for half a century until the Focus was released. P.S. Will we see us here? https://www.beaulieu.co.uk/events/spring-autojumble/ |
