Apparently the car is restored in season 4 and plays a larger part, but I haven't gotten to see season 4 yet, so I can't speak with authority on that.

The '72 and '73 regular models had wider mesh grilles than did the '70-'71's. With the possible exception of the last thumbnail car, they all appear to be '70's or '71's.
