A truly evil beast used to break in new land, or in this case reclaim an overgrown farm which has been abandoned for 20+ years

Commentary keeps mentioning "Guard tiller" or similar phrase but eventually I sussed out they meant Gyrotiller. Max speed apparently 2 mph. AUG 879 = early 1935 Leeds issue - which is where Fowlers were made. Interesting account of wartime Gyrotillers in East Anglia here - this looks like No.8

in that list and with AUG plate may even be the same one he drove and the one in photo. Interesting forum thread as well - "The general consensus was it wrecked the soil structure and it could be seen where it had worked several years afterwards".

At least one survivor today - UG 7047 - https://www.flickr.com/photos/imagetaker1/7433406286 , https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTN33AvbK7E

And a Meccano version
