It ia a 1958 Edsel Ranger or Pacer , would need other details for identification :the higher priced Corsairs and Citations had 2 additional small bumper overriders at each side of the " horsecollar" grille.

I think it's a Ranger; found at least five pictures of Pacers, all with the overriders.

Concerning the Pacer , I have seen pictures of this series with and without the small bumper overriders. In Moloney's and Dammann's encyclopedia of American cars 1945 to 1959 there is a factory picture of a Pacer Converible and of a Pacer Bermuda Wagon , both without the small bumper overriders.Other factory pictures ao of the 4 door hardtop sedan show the bumper with the overriders.I have also pictures of an Edsel display for car journalists held at the Dearborn test rrack in 1958 for the launch of the Edsel, showing Pacers without the overriders.

This is a 1958 Edsel Citation or Corsair. Only way to tell these from the smaller Rangers, Pacers, and wagons with only a full frontal view is the height of the horsecollar grille outer ring above the split at the lower edge of the hood.
This one exhibits a higher extent of the outer grill trim into the front face of the hood, therefore it must be one of the larger series models. Front bumper guards (sometimes called bumperettes) with gray rubber center inserts were optional on *all* 1958 Edsel models, but it is unusual to find the top-of-the-line Citation without them. So I would lay odds on this car being a Corsair.

Nope, on second look, I'm going to retract that last opinion, and go with the junior series.

But there's still no way to tell if it's a Ranger, Pacer, or station wagon...they all came with or without bumper guards, and all parts of the headlights, bumpers and front grilles (apart from the hood) are the same for all 1958 Edsels.

I think the script reads "Ranger".

That main pix is about as "in your face" as it gets!

This car is a 1958 Edsel Ranger 2 Door Hard Top, I happen to currently own it. Initially restored in the late 80's to early 90's by an old gentleman, I purchased the Edsel from his family a little over seven years ago.
