Really ? I thought the brochures only said "Cabriolet". |

Yes. "Onder deze naam werd de wagen ook daadwerkelijk verkocht in het Opel-dealernetwerk. In Nederland zijn enkele van deze cabriolet's ook zo geregistreerd." Info from http://www.dauto.nl/merk/08222/Hammond26Thiede/ The brochure does indeed say Hammond & Thiede, not Opel. ![]() And registered as make: but we won't do that here. |

Presumably the same conversion was used for the Vauxhall Cavalier Convertible?? Should they be listed as made in D for UK?? |

Other possibilities were Keinath (Reutlingen) and Voll (Würzburg), all very German, so made in D should be a safe bet. Except one line here http://www.ascona-cabrio.com/englisch.htm that Hammond & Thiede had settlements in Dover. |

... which says "That conversion was planned in England by the "Planungs- und Konstruktionsbüro International Automobil Design" (IAD)." I assume that is a reference to this International Automotive Design (IAD) who were a significant car design firm at the time. |
