Poked around the net for a while. This is distinctive by the central overrider being tucked behind the bumper instead of on it like the other two. Looked up all the Depression-era makes I could think of (and keep in mind there aren't many) but didn't find it.
I still haven't found any with such a rear bumper, but maybe it could be a LaSalle about 1929? The central overrider on the front bumper is remarkably small when compared to other makes, which might cause the effect I'm seeing here: http://www.vaultcars.com/wp-content/uploads/30LaSalleRoadster-011.jpg

LaSalle was the cheaper Cadillac, and therefore GM, so it could match what nzcarnerd said.

I've had a look at this film online, and it appears someone has stuck an anachronistic Ford plum on the rear deck. Could be a Model A, but then again, maybe it's something else quickly dressed up. People see the plum and think 'All right, it's a Ford A, common car.'

On the right closer to the camera is indeed a 1930 Ford model A,a firend of mine bought the car near a decade ago from a car collector in Vista California with all the credentials to prove this particular car was in the movie, including this Iconic picture, the modern Ford blue oval emblem on the trunk was a very distinctive item in this car,the car was powered by a modern ford ranger pick up power train and 1940 ford hidraulic brakes,I replaced the blue emblem with a period correct ford emblem and kept the oval piece as a souvenir in my garage for years till Desided to mount it on the trailer hitch cap on my sons 72 Ranchero,I’m writing here now because I was talking to a friend about where the blue emblem came from n was looking for the picture where it shows the car on the movie set,and found there were a discussion about it,Sorry it took so long for the reply.
