@bosnia: When stating that something is a certain thing, please motivate your point of view. As far as I know, there are three or four features that might point towards a certain model or year. That is the chrome strip beneath the bumper, the bumper, the grill and the colour. - The chrome strip was a feature only on the first years of the /8 series, that is on those that didn't have double bumpers. - If it had had double bumper it would have been a 250 or possible a 280 [W 114]. - The entry models [W 115] of the earlier years had a finer mesh in the grill than those [W 114] fitted with a six cylinder engine. - The colour might or might not point towards a specific year. Conclusion: The only model of the earlier years that had less squares in the grill but only a single bumper was the 1968+ Mercedes-Benz 230 [W 114.015] http://wiki.mercedes-benz-classic.com/index.php/Kategorie:W114/W115 . I believe that all models got the fewer squares with the revision in 1974. The model featured above is either a 230 or a W 115 fitted with a newer hood/bonnet. |

Maybe these shots can be helpful for both vehicles: |

Also the thumbs point towards a earlier Mercedes model (no quarter windows 1974+). |
