"Knight Alpha" (KA), a vehicle for the TKR International Team with headquarters in Berlin. It speaks a terrible german language in the american dub. For example the car emphasizes on the word "weit" (far) which sounds totally akward. Despite being capable of english, this car decides to only speak german. Erica: "Brilliant! They couldnt come up with a common currency. Now they give them super cars." You are sooo wrong! We have the Euro. KA answers: "Meine Hochgeschwindigkeit ist über 480 Stundenkilometer und ich kann über 15 Meter weit springen." Top speed is 480 kph and it can jump over 15 Meters. |

A Ka that constantly talks to me in a computerized voice? My worst nightmare... |

A Ka is a nightmare anyway - a computerised voice is just a bonus means of creating terror. |

But the deadly Ferrous Oxide is still its Kryptonite. |

A colleague had a Ka mkI. One day the camshaft broke, just by normal usage. "Yes, this happens", said succintly the Ford-blokes to her. Of course it was no warranty-case. |

He pronounces it so it sounds like "weit springen" as in the Olympic discipline. |

I wonder, was it imported from Europe or a Mexican one that came across the border? |

This was sponsored by Ford, so either a prototype for the european Ka (like the european Chrysler Stratus in "Viper") or a Ka from Mexico. |

But this was released in October 1997, 13 months after the Ka was launched, I'm assuming they probably filmed in June-September 1997, so it could easily be a final version. What makes you say it's a proto? |

actually Erica was right the Euro wasn't introduced when the show was made, by 1996-1997 they still argued about name and form -- Last edit: 2015-11-30 13:59:02 |

I know mikey... it was a joke, because Erica couldnt look into the future. Not enough that you steal my contribution, now you also have to humiliate me? -- Last edit: 2015-11-30 19:52:34 |

sad thing is "Erica" didn't have a future or most those actors for that matter - Kyle quit acting in 2005 and died in 2012 - Erica quit acting in 2003 - Duke, quit acting in 2004 - Jenny , quit acting in 2002 it's almost like a curse !!, only "Trek" (Nick Wechsler) still acts today -- Last edit: 2015-11-30 20:02:18 |

Finally i saw this episode in german and the Ford Ka speaks japanese and french so that the joke works out. Interestingly RTL Nitro shows "Street Hawk" starting at 21 February 2016 at the same time slot as Team Knight Rider (5:00-5:45 PM) after the last episode was shown. Cool thing, i am already thinking about watching Street Hawk next. |

I'll go with the year 1997, Probably The Ka could be sold in 1996 but I don't know what month is it where they sell the Ford Ka. I'm probably going to guess that They took the Ka and put on a ship or a plane and that's how this came to here. -- Last edit: 2022-08-15 23:32:37 |

We list these as 1997 for the default year. There were some changes each year but I’ll defer to more experienced members on the specific details as I haven’t studied these. |
