@ rjluna2: sounds logical in a German TV-Series ![]() If you mean it could have been made in Europe, Volkswagen corporate documents just give Puebla, Mexico, for both the closed and convertible versions of the New Beetle, starting in December 1997 for the Coupé (see the 2007 to 2011 issues of the Navigator - "Facts and figures").
