It is a Van Hool B58 long wheel base , built upon either Fiat basis, or Volvo , Leyland, Bedford, Daf , Mercédès Benz... we cannot say from this picture |

I am not sure this is a Van Hool vehicle. I rather think a Verleure coach on a Automiesse VGX chassis (Gardner LX engine). The Antwerp based A.R.A.C. coach business used to had such a vehicle in the early seventies in this livery. |

Isn't "B58" actually a Volvo chassis type, instead of Van Hool ? |

I believe this is not unlikely a Van Hool, but the modelname was called "Vistadome". The then state owned Swedish railways (=SJ) indeed ordered a fair amount of them on Volvo (B58) chassis, in order to transport passengers to areas where the trains couldn't reach, but I believe that was not in the beginning of the production run. Instead it might be a DAF Link to "en.wheelsage.org" or perhaps a Fiat, both common as chassis for Van Hool. -- Last edit: 2021-12-12 13:31:59 |
