The Wikipedia entry for the film is quite detailed about US locations and doesn't say anything about the Hoover Dam. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/San_Andreas_(film)#Filming Are you sure that they filmed at the real dam? |

@CougarTim - you are correct that only the Hybrid model has the chrome grille in Australia. It's likely that this is an Australian Camry, but I can't say for sure. |

In this article, according to the movie's visual effects supervisor, Bryan Grill, they did not have permission to film at Hoover Dam because of the script's content. (Scroll down to How to…destroy Hoover Dam ). I'm guessing though the scene from the capture above was filmed in Los Angeles since that's where Gill's company, Scanline VFX is located |
