Unveiled in 1968 due to an agreement between MAN and Saviem (MAN engines for heavy-duty Saviem trucks in exchange of small Saviem models sold as MAN), the MAN 270 was the German version of the SG2, while the MAN 485 was the sibling of the SG3.
